When I was in elementary school, I earned the responsibility of serving as a crosswalk safety captain. I wore a white strap around my waist and across my chest, and help a STOP sign. Standing on one side of the street, other K-6 students gathered behind me waiting for me to walk out, stop the traffic, and motion for the students to safely cross to the other side.
As a life coach, I am still standing on one side of a metaphorical street with people who desire to cross from where they are now to where they want to be. I coach through my weekly blog essays that are posted here, on social media, and, if you subscribe to my blog, are sent to your email.

Hi Missy, reading your thoughts about Life Coaching I remembered something from long ago. My first-grade classmate, Albert, whom I really didn't pay much attention to, was having trouble with his reading, and I was a champ. My teacher asked me to help him, and I remember her putting both of our desks out in the hallway where we were to sit together. The feeling of being given an assignment carrying responsibility for another human I didn't know is with me still.
